New Starting Decks, Meta-Progression, and Card Appearance Updates

We have added new starting decks, meta-progression, and major cosmetic updates to cards.

Changelog

  • New starting decks - There are now six starting decks instead of one! The new decks need to be unlocked to avoid overwhelming new players. The game uses a "deck fragment" system where you can select a major fragment (10 cards) and a minor fragment (5 cards) for your deck. You can mix and match cards from various themes to quickly build a deck that suits your preferences.
  • Meta-progression - Whenever you defeat a boss of a given color, you now unlock the starting deck of the same color.
  • Card appearance updates - Card appearances have been greatly enhanced! Cards now have a background associated with their corresponding color and world of origin. Additionally, the "grade" letters have been replaced by rarity gems on the cards to indicate how good they are. Finally, card titles should now be easier to read.
  • Improved monster pathing - Monsters can now path around each other to get to the player base. Additionally, monsters will no longer path over buildings that are under construction.
  • Alchemist improvements - The alchemist will now put cards for which you can afford upgrades at the start of the list, with an "up" icon in the top-right corner.
  • Bugfixes - Several bugs have been fixed:
    • Soldiers or mage towers killing bosses will now give you the post-boss healing effect.
    • The white boss is no longer (nearly) impossible to defeat, as they no longer have a glitched minion that cancels every card you play.
    • Minions no longer display max health instead of current health during animation playback in combat.
    • Fixed a bug where cards with beginning of turn triggers would keep triggering into future games.
