Town Mode Revamp + Visual Polish

The town mode has been dramatically revamped (details below). In addition, the combat mode has been updated to provide more visual polish

Changelog

  • Town mode revamp
    • Players now have a physical position on the map and must walk to enemies to fight them and walk to buildings to use them
    • Players get 3 moves each turn before the enemies act
    • Open portals now spawn a stream of small enemies that stack on the map. You must go to the portal, click on the portal, and fight an enemy to close that portal.
    • The portal spawn rate has been slowed, but every 5 turns a wave of many portals will spawn
    • Uses of The Void are now stored up so the player can use them all when they make it back to the building
    • The chaos portal now offers more cards by default
    • The keep now stores more cards by default
    • Open portals guarded by a boss enemy now say BOSS

  • Visual polish - The battle screen now has a number of visual improvements.
    • Shadows have been added
    • Cards on the field have been "minified" to fit better and pop up a full version of the card on hover
    • Attack/defense numbers on minions have been enlarged
    • Player avatars now glow when it is that player's turn
    • Minion attack animations have been improved
    • Cards now snap directly into place on the field if they don't need a target
    • The targeting arrow has a textured animation that should help clarify where it's pointing

  • Card illustrations - More card illustrations have been added.
  • Bugfixes - A number of bugs have been fixed.
    • Fixed soft lock issue during combat
    • Fixed issue where tutorials were not working anymore
    • Fixed issue with card animations where cards would show up blank if they had future animations queued up
    • Load menu now scrolls correctly
    • The Void now properly refreshes again when a card is destroyed
    • Loot only cards that don't go in your deck no longer show up as "Quality Level 6"
    • Fixed an issue that only occurs on Macs with M1 chips where a lot of UI text didn't show up properly.
    • Fixed an issue where soldiers could not be dragged from building to building
